What is the difference between the Black Edition and the Red Edition?
The main difference is our Black Edition features an Auto-Ambient LCD. Sometimes you’re looking at deep, dark greens. Other times, the bright blues or whites of the sky. No matter the background, the HT-Black Edition will automatically change the display color to best enable you to read the data, quickly learn your yardage, and enable you to hit your best shot.
Are Harry Taylor Rangefinder legal for play?
Yes, all Harry Taylor Rangefinders are USGA Tournament Legal. They come equipped with an easy to operate Slope ON/OFF Switch so you can decide if you want your rangefinder to display the slope adjusted distance. Turn Slope off and you conform with USGA rules.
Do I need batteries for my Harry Taylor rangefinder?
No! All Harry Taylor rangefinders are rechargeable! They come with a built in Li-ion battery. You’ll never have to buy batteries for your rangefinder again! Fully charged, a Harry Taylor rangefinder will last a minimum of 5 rounds depending on use. Recharge with provided micro-usb whenever the low power icon shows on the Liquid Crystal Display. (Don’t forget, less batteries used also saves the planet!🌎)
How many modes are on Harry Taylor Rangefinders?
Harry Taylor Rangefinders have 3 different modes. Use MODE 2 for golf.
Mode 1: is a simple rangefinder without slope or vibration and noes not activate “Flag-lok”.
Mode 2: is designed specifically for golf, enables the use of slope, and the unit will vibrate when locked on the target. “Flag-lok” is enabled!
Mode 3: enables the unit to calculate speeds of moving objects like vehicles or animals.
How do I change MODES on my rangefinder?
To change MODES click the MODE button. Each time you click the MODE button the MODE will move once. If your rangefinder is on MODE 3 and you want to change to MODE 2, click once to move to MODE 1 and a second time to move to MODE 2.
Do Harry Taylor Rangefinder have a warranty?
Yes! Every Harry Taylor rangefinder is warrantied to be operational and free of material and workmanship defects for a period of one (1) year. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper handling, disassembly, electric shock, or excessive water damage. How do I change my distance settings from meters to yards? Or yards to meters?
To change from meters to yards or vice versa hold the MODE button down for approximately 3 seconds. If you are looking through the LCD while you do this you will see the M (meters) change to a Y (yards). Repeat the process and the distance display will change back.
How long will my fully charged unit last before requiring charging?
How long a Harry Taylor rangefinder will hold a charge is very dependent on the amount of use. However, in most circumstances your rangefinder will not need to be recharged for at least 5 rounds and could easily last 20 rounds or more.
How long does it take to recharge my rangefinder?
We highly recommend you recharge your rangefinder overnight so you won’t have to worry if you’ve recharged your unit enough, but in most cases a 4 hour recharging will do the job.
Also, more and more electric golf carts feature a USB connection. The very connection used to charge our rangefinders.
